My long-awaited true crime and fantasy series has finally made its debut, featured on my new website; R.A. Lingenfelter. Book One of my Nightmaerz Crimeantasy™ series is finally live on my new website and I couldn’t be happier!
Yesterday I typed “The End”, kinda. I don’t use those exact words at the end of this series, but you get what I’m saying. I finished the first book! Now comes the nail-biting, waiting, wondering while my editors and beta readers take their first crack at finding my errors, areas I need to make the story stronger, etc.
My true crime meets fantasy horror series is getting closer to it's release day. The researcher in me has been busy following the detriment that is happening in our country, sorting out facts from fiction, truth versus rage bait.
I’ve been fighting this battle for the past 5 years and honestly, I thought I had given up and hung my hat up on my series. Fighting can be exhausting and fighting for five years can drastically change an author’s life.
The cat is out of the bag. With Gathering of Corvids done, I'm able to move forward with a new series that hopefully won't be banned on social media. I could go back to writing sweet western romance, but the thought of writing about one more naked cowboy caused my muse to cringe.
As Otis Redding once crooned, "It's a long time coming, a change is gonna come..." That's how I've felt with Gathering of Corvids. The fourth book, Declaration of Crows was released in 2021.
It’s hard to believe that four years ago, ‘End of Crows’ was released to the world. I worked so hard in 2018 & 2019 to build and create a dystopian world that would rival against the top hard-hitters like ‘Divergent’ and ‘Hunger Games’.
It's been a month! In 3 short weeks, we found a ranch in Arkansas, packed up our house and livestock and left our native Colorado state. It's been an adventure, not all of it fun, but we've learned so much about the new state we've chosen to call home.
Just three days ago, we had to put one of our beloved horses down. I realize that when I signed up to rescue senior horses, I would have to make this tough decision. I understand the pain, but also understand that the love I give these noble animals during their last years/months/days on earth is worth the pain that I suffer.
Results were released this morning and the second book in the Small Sacrifices Series, Flight of Sparrows, won the silver medal in the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards!
I'm super excited for my new Patreon account my oldest daughter created for me. I LOVE meeting my fans and readers, and can't seem to book enough signings, so this will allow me to meet with readers, faithful and new, and interact with them personally.
My book, End of Crows, the first in the Small Sacrifices Series, recently hit #2 on Amazon. To say I was excited is a complete understatement, as I was dancing and crying seeing it finally going out into the big, scary world.
I was ready to hang up my writer’s hat. That’s how dismal I saw my future for writing. My reviews have always been great, the feedback fantastic, but my sales were far from double-digits, let alone the seven figure incomes that my fellow author friends were pulling in.
